John Venn (1834 – 1923) was an English logician and philosopher noted for introducing the Venn diagram, used in discussions and visual representations of probability, logic, statistics, sets, and computer science. In the 1881 book Symbolic Logic Professor Venn introduced his graphic organizers that would become known as Venn diagrams.
