Greek Revival
- Also known as the Nationalist Era (1810-1830)
- Simple, balanced, symmetrical lines
- Grew out of lifestyles that reflected beauty in harmony, order, and balance
- Characterized by columns: Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian
- Elaborate carved friezes on the entablature of many of the buildings
- Style most often found in public buildings
- Columns signified importance of buildings or, in some cases, floors.
